About Our Company

Here at Asheville Playgrounds, we value creating spectacular custom-built playgrounds, playscapes, and treehouses for kids in all walks of life. Our company has been around since 1985, and with our years of experience building playgrounds all over the South and Southeast United States, we have been very lucky to have lots of opportunities to create beauty and fun for children and adults alike. From Georgia to Kentucky, and from coastal North Carolina to Alabama, we are grateful for every chance to create something unique! Our shop and office is located in Asheville, NC, and we tailor our designs to your unique aesthetics, needs, and budget. We typically build with pressure-treated lumber as well as natural materials like black locust, rhododendron, and mountain laurel—to add real mountain flavor to your custom playground! We are well known for creating large and elaborate play sets, particularly for developments, apartments, parks, churches, schools, campgrounds and larger residences. About the Owners

Evelyn and Jerry bought Asheville Playgrounds in 2006, excited by the prospect of creating things they found challenging and fun. Jerry (now retired) loves the design process, while Evelyn finds fulfillment in building things that add to the world and bring people joy. Evelyn is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) and takes her responsibility to ensure the safety of our playgrounds very seriously—both for the benefit of the businesses we work for, and (more importantly) for the wellbeing of the kids. She is firmly committed to a high standard of work, and usually travels to each site herself to see that every customer’s vision is being brought to life just the way it was dreamed up!
