Playgrounds for Churches
About Our Work with Churches
At Asheville Playgrounds, we work with many churches around the Southeast. Churches in particular are so inspiring to work with. One of the things we love is to replicate interesting architecture in our church playground designs. A play-sized representation of your building can have fun activities like rock walls, monkey bars, slides, swings, bridges and more. We’ll work with you to feature the architectural elements of your church that you find most meaningful. Every step of the way, we coordinate with all the committee members to fulfill your needs.

Case Study: First Baptist Church of Asheville, NC
One of the most iconic churches in Asheville contacted us early in their remodeling process to install a playground that complements the church architecture. This big beautiful church has a gorgeous dome roof that we replicated in the playground. This feat was no easy task but our guys performed remarkably. We built two play areas, one for ages 5-12 and another one for toddlers.
The larger structure has the domed roof with a portico to match the front of the church. There is another roofed deck, a staircase, multiple slides, and various climbing areas. The toddler playground is one of our basic designs with a customized roof and includes a bedrock climber, play panels, tube crawl and slides. In addition we constructed a large shaded oval sandbox that the kids just love. Everyone was very pleased at the ribbon cutting ceremony and droves of kids took to the playground immediately afterward!

How We Work with Churches
The first step is meeting with the church committee to determine the budget and space available. We listen carefully to understand the needs of your community and we work hard to fit the budgetary and spatial needs of your church and to maximize play per square foot. Then we develop one or more designs to present to your church. If fundraising is necessary, we provide a hand-drawn colored concept sketch. We have worked with dozens of churches in the Southeast and would be thrilled to hear from you! Check out our gallery below, and then contact us to see how our playground can complement your church community.
